September 2013 sees the release of ‘The Last Ship’, the first album of original material since 2003’s ‘Sacred Love’. Inspired by his forthcoming play of the same name the album explores the central themes of homecoming and self-discovery, drawing upon his memories of growing up in the shadow of the Swan Hunters Shipyard in Wallsend. To coincide with the release Sting will be performing ten benefit shows featuring the new material at New York’s Public Theatre in September/October 2013.
