Shooting Star – Circles 2006
With vocalist Kevin Chalfant (since replaced by Ronnie Platt) in tow, Shooting Star have put out CIRCLES, yet another of their many great CDs. Leader/guitarist Van McClain comes off as a sort of AOR version of the Outlaws’ Hughie Thomasson, intertwining hot solos with melodic hooks, and writing great songs to boot.
Jesse Ballard – Cut It All Loose 2014
Always here or there. Jesse Ballard shows up all over the world for shows with the band or as a duo with Joe or solo or sometimes with a big band. Originally from Calirfornia the man with the voice is at home in any number of different countries. Berlin was home base for a long time and sometimes still is, so was London, but then there was Spain, Italy, and many other places.

The purpose of this diary is to put the high beams on a review of the Red Wolf Recovery Program being conducted by the Wildlife Management Institute, a private consulting organization hired for this purpose by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The review was requested by the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission, later joined by the N.C. Farm Bureau and the NC Sportsmen’s Caucus.

But more lyrical aya this band had their reception in the Peruvian metal scene playing in several cities of Peru even to play in Ecuador.
Shooting Star – Anthology 2007
“Shooting Star” is one of those ’80s rock bands that never got the exposure and airplay they deserved (in my opinion.) This compilation has their biggest hits from the ’80s and includes a few tracks from the ’90s and beyond. “Last Chance” (the nearly seven minute hit from their eponymous debut) and “Hang On For Your Life”, “Are You on My Side”, “Flesh and Blood”, “Breakout”, and “Hollywood” (all from “Hang On For Your Life”) were just some of the popular hits in my neck of the woods. Like “Kansas” (the band) they were not afraid to mix strings with electric guitars, drums, keyboards, and vocals to produce catchy songs. This two CD set is well worth the price.
