From the collectible No. 360 edition of Metal Hammer, celebrating 30 years of the magazine. Metal Hammer describes the album as “great Greek bands today rearranging some of the treasures of our music that were released in 1984.” The bonus track, a cover of Motörhead’s Killed by Death, is identified as track ’66’, even though the liner notes don’t mention it.
Blindman – Evergreen 2013
Although Evergreen is a self-cover album, much of it felt very new to me as I have never been able to purchase many of their older releases. The only song that I was familiar with was “The Way to the Hill” from their 2001 self-titled and the improvement between this version and the original is incredible; I love Nakamura’s new sexy lick at the beginning and the added jolt of dynamism incorporated into the main guitar solo.

Syzzy Roxx – Glamournizer (2006)
Germany’s Syzzy Roxx were formerly known as Gamblin’ Crew and describe their sound as ‘poser rock’. My first thought is that these guys are kind of amusing. For a start they have a rather, errmm, unusual look (for want of a better description) and whether intentional or not, the bio on their official site is quite funny. For example part of what they say about their growth or transformation from Gamblin’ Crew to Syzzy Roxx goes like this, “the Crew was yet accused of just honouring the numerous variations of penetration, Syzzy Roxx go further than that. Political topics are being examined, such as the hostage-taking by full bosomed aliens” and so forth. Maybe it’s their sense of humor or maybe something got lost in translation. Either way, it’s all sounds quite odd but you can’t help but laugh.
