On January 11 releases the Swedish band Stella By Starlight “debut album” Let It Sleep “.
The group was formed in 2007 as a reaction to the often bland radio music. Some have called the music “dreamy pop” other “raw, honest and emotional indie rock” while Martin Larsson at Helsingborgsfestivalen writes that it is a really great band musically slips into somewhere between Radiohead, Lifehouse and U2.

frontDecade 1983-1993 is a retrospective from Australian rock band Choirboys. I confess I had never heard of the band before running across this collection at the local used CD store, but I’ve had good luck trying Australian rock bands from the `80s (Screaming Jets and The Angels come to mind), so I gave it a try.

Nasty Lipstick – young Finnish mucus-rock band, and this is a case where a completely unprincipled name has not yet been said about the quality of music. However, nothing more of them also do not expect – quite a reasonable sleaze-rock with lyrics and canonicity drive dynamics, no more no less.

As patriotic as apple pie or a bald-eagle-meat hamburger, Pure… American Anthems offers up 68 star-spangled jams, including Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger,” Elvis Presley’s “An American Trilogy,” and Charlie Daniels’ “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” In lieu of “Free Bird” (or anything by Lynyrd Skynyrd, for that matter), the compilers have included classic, NASCAR-approved freedom jams from Michael Bolton (“How Am I Supposed to Live Without You”) and Dan Fogelberg (“Longer”).
