In Brazil, sometimes good Hard Rock bands appear, but the greater part of them use bands like MOTLEY CRUE, GUNS ‘N’ ROSES and SKID ROW models. Just a few of them go in a way lighter, in direction of a more AOR/Party Rock sound. And DESERT DANCE, from São Paulo, is one of them, and their first EP, “Open Secrets”, is a good sample of what I mean.

The Chris Mess EP is advertised as having a “sound rooted in and inspired by original era glam, rock ‘n roll, and power pop aesthetics.” Similarities are made to bands such as Cheap Trick, Queen, The Darkness, Ziggy era David Bowie and The Sweet while striving to move the needle forward and not back.
