Outlaws ‎– Playin’ To Win [Remastered Arista/Legacy] 2017

Posted on January 22, 2017 in Classic Rock by Alex F

The Outlaws have always been one of my favorites no matter the lineup and I’ve always considered Ghost Riders one of their finest works. I was not however a huge fan of Playin’ To Win at the time of it’s release in 1978 but listening to it now and coming to understand the dynamics taking place in the group at the time I’ve gained a new appreciation for the material on the record though I still believe the record was overproduced.

ANDY TIMMONS BAND – THEME FROM A PERFECT WORLD 2016

Posted on January 22, 2017 in Hard Rock by Alex F

Let’s start with a statement: if you are an AC/DC kind of rock fan, and worship bands like Airbourne (which I love by the way) and at the same time do not tolerate anything else, you will most likely not get this album at all.

Ronnie Baker Brooks was born in Chicago, and started playing guitar around age six. At 19, he joined his father Lonnie Brooks, who by then had influenced some of the most well-known bluesman of our history: Jimmy Reed, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Johnny Winter, and Junior Wells.
