RED RAVEN – Chapter One: The Principles (2014)
A fellow Austrian reader is introducing to us a new band from Germany, RED RAVEN, and their debut CD “Chapter One: The Principles” to be released all over Europe next week.
The Hard Rock quartet featured seasoned musicians from the local scene, but perhaps the most known is singer Frank Beck, who replaced Kai Hansen when he got sick during Gamma Ray’s Empire of the Undead tour.
The Midnight Ghost Train – The Midnight Ghost Train (2009)
The Midnight Ghost Train is an American rock band from Topeka, Kansas. The band’s line-up consists of Steve Moss (guitar/vocals), Brandon Burghart (drums), and Mike Boyne (bass). The trio has been categorized as hard rock, stoner rock, and heavy blues.
PARADIGM – POP GOES THE FUTURE 1994
Ultra rare indie gem from US that most collectors don’t know this exists, others that do can’t find it. The band’s only release contain 11 songs cross between hard rock and metal with lots of harmonies for fans of late 80s hard rock scene. Easily as good as the more well known hard rock indie but tons more rare.

Horizon – Futuristic Triangle 1988
This hyper rare 9 track album was released in the late 80s on the band’s own label. Extremely rare mid-west sounding AOR-pop indie flawlessly played to perfection. Loads of hooks, great vocals and tight musicianship this indie should appeal to fans of lightweight AOR-pop.
UNDER YOUR SKIN – IN TIME 2001
Mega rare US indie release from 2001 on Blue Dot Records. Another worthy female fronted hard rock band, a little too polished and produced but Jude’s voice and the songs make up for it. They play hard rock with some country influences reminds bands like Phanotm Blue and Femme Fatale.
Mary Lu Zahalan – Think Of Me 1982
In addition to her role teaching popular music theory and performance in Toronto Professor Mary-Lu Zahalan is also a triple threat – singer, actor, and producer. Raised in Quebec City, Mary-Lu studied dance, vocal and music and was the first runner-up in the Miss Canada pageant before embarking on a successful career in the performing arts.
Zahalan – Zahalan 1990
This one is certainly a Holy Grail for David Foster fans. Released in 1990 only in Canada this CD contains 2 noteworthy tracks. “Letting Go” was produced by David Foster and features Danny Peck on harmony vocals as well as David Boruff on sax. This is the classic “David Foster sound” that I miss since David seems to be producing a totally different sound these days.
WILDE JUNGS – Unbesiegt 2017
Wild boys are wild guys, and there is nothing in between. A bunch for life, not to the mouth, uncompromising, ready to go with “Undefeated” the next step. “What we have built up, you can not buy with money,” says Tyson. Ultimately, it is true that movement is created by attitude. “The system we live in has long been Orwellian traits,” the band’s voice is worried.

D’ERCOLE – ROCK SCAR (2011)
D’ercoles debut was heavily compared to classic Winger in the melodic rock press and gained high praise. The band’s follow up “Rock Scar” features stronger songs, better production as well as the powerful vocals of Phil Vincent [LEGION].
