Steve Perry – Traces 2018

Posted on October 4, 2018 in Melodic Rock | AOR by Alex F

Journey frontman’s epic voice is still intact, but his first album in nearly a quarter century doesn’t quite have the spark of his finest hits. The album is very much a classic Steve Perry record, full of dramatic schmaltz, nostalgia and the occasional rocker.

Brighton’s Black Peaks have been on a hugely ascending trajectory over the last few years. From plying their trade on the local club circuit armed with only a handful of songs, to supporting the likes of Marmozets, Deftones, and A Perfect Circle in front of thousands of people, the band show no sign of slowing down anytime soon.

Emperors Of The Wasteland – Begin (2018)

Posted on October 4, 2018 in Hard Rock by Vitto

Formed in 2016, this Derby based hard rock band is a groove-oriented, blues-based rock band with a stoner edge and an image styled around a post-apocalyptic, mad max-esque theme. Strike Twice – Strike Twice 2009

Posted on October 3, 2018 in Hard Rock by Vitto

FrontIt must be said upfront that I write for Eonian Records and actually wrote the bio for this album, so maybe I’m biased, but I still rate this as the best CD Eonian has released to date, sporting twice the street-cool swagger of most late 80s hard rock/hair-metal bands. Fans of ballsy, sleaze-tinged groups like Dirty Rhythm, Erotic Suicide, Jones Street, McQueen Street, Ratt, Skid Row, etc.
