Also this time the content of THYRFING is about myths, fairy tales and stories from Scandinavia. The powerful, heavy and aggressive opener DÖP DEM I ELD opens the new album with groove and melody, it follows with TRÄLDOMSORD probably the most intense song of the band so far, the epic JORDAFÄRD closes the work perfectly full of melancholy and atmospheric longing.

With their sixth album, ‘The Tritonus Bell‘, the Finns continue to impress with immaculate songwriting skills and the perfect balance between harsh death metal fuelled outbursts and exquisite melodic melancholy. For fans of ACID WITCH, ASPHYX, (later) AUTOPSY, COFFINS, (later) RUNEMAGICK.

Mixing and mastering was once again done by Ronnie Björnström @ Enhanced Audio Productions and he really outdid himself on this one, creating a great combination of modern and old school death metal sound. ..and with strange aeons even death may die.

After Chad Davis (THE SABBATHIAN, STENCH OF EVIL, ex-PROFANE GRACE) drifted into a punkier direction with Hour of Thirteen, he is now planning the new HOUR OF 13 album for 2021 (note the small but subtle difference in spelling). Here again original doom rock/metal is to be announced, but Davis himself will take over the vocals instead of Phil Swanson.
