JANI LANE Re-Imagined by Chris Laney 2025 EP

Most of you are aware that the late JANI LANE had some unfinished songs. We already featured at some time ago ”Jabberwocky [the unreleased ’93 album]”, the unreleased songs / demos.

Now Chris Laney, the well-known producer and musician from Sweden who has played in many bands and produced countless albums from artists like Crazy Lixx, Crashdiet, Zan Clan, etc, has been taking some of these unfinished, demoed Jani Lane songs and fixing them up into what he thinks they would sound like now if Jani were still in Warrant: JANI LANE (Re-Imagined).
The results are pretty amazing, with additional instrumentation and the feel of really finished songs. You can find these on Chris Laney’s YouTube channel, but many of you have been asking for all these songs together in audio format.
Originally a fragile recording from the Jabberwocky sessions, ‘All You Had to Say’ has been rebuilt from the ground up — featuring Jani Lane’s emotional vocal in full focus. Soaked in melody, this track reveals the softer, more vulnerable side of Jani — now with the clarity and power it always deserved.

Jani wasn’t just hair metal – he was hooks, heartbreak, and pure pop-rock instinct. “House of Cards” is a melodic, harmony-soaked power-pop anthem – raw in demo form, but brimming with the kind of Beatles-meets-Cheap Trick sensibility that Jani quietly adored. Laney has taken Jani’s demo vocals, battling tape hiss, speed issues, and decades of audio decay, and rebuilt the song from the ground up — a clean, modern production that stays true to Lane’s original intent, while giving it the sonic life it always deserved.

”This Town” is a song that hits home — ”I’ve always felt a little odd, a little outside”. Jani put that feeling into words like no one else could. This one’s personal. ”Changes” is about luck… or the lack of it. About turning corners, hoping for more.

Jani wasn’t just a frontman — he was Warrant. But aside the hair metal fun and party songs, Jani was a poet. A truth-teller. A talented one.
This is a great job from Chris Laney. Very, very enjoyable music.
