Lion – Trouble In Angel City [Remaster Bad Reputation +6] 2020, MP3+FLAC w/ Scans

Here’s the excellent Bad Reputation Records remastered version of LION‘s second and final album “Trouble In Angel City” (1989), including 6 bonus tracks.
Formed in 1983 in Los Angeles after ex-Tytan vocalist Kal Swan relocated from Great Britain and teamed up with drummer Mark Edwards and guitarist Doug Aldrich (who later joined Hurricane and then Whitesnake), in 1986 Lion released their now rare 6-track EP “Power Love” in Japan only (which is enclosed here as bonus tracks), followed by their full lenght debut “Dangerous Attraction” (1987).
“Trouble In Angel City” (1989) was their final release – a superb slice of classic U.S. hard rock from start to finish and one of the strongest releases of 1989. They offered muscular hard rock with great melodies, power vocals by Kal Swan, and sharp riffs from Aldrich, all in arena-sized package.
“Trouble In Angel City” is a bit harder than Lion’s previous LP and does not flirt as often with AOR as the debut, and works better for the band. Tracks like “Stranger in the City” and “Can’t Stop The Rain” rock hard, and show why the band with Swan in front had the most to take the last step to success.
Equally good is the catchy “Love is a Lie”, melodic hard rock in the same class as Hurricane and Cold Sweat.
This remastered edition from Bad Reputation is definitely the one to have with its bonus tracks. The remaster brings the album fuller, punchier.
