EVIL CINDERELLA from the tranquil Wuppertal want to emulate the classical hard rock and metal-size of the 80s and early 90s with their music. On the second EP “Dangerous Inside”, this gives a competent mix of grippy hooks and virtuoso guitar work.

The One Hundred have revealed that “Chaos + Bliss”, their debut studio album, will be released via Spinefarm Records on June 2nd, 2017.
The 12 tracks – including lead UK single / video “Dark Matters” and follow-up “Monster” (both premiered on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show) – will be available on CD, DL & LP, with the latter featuring bonus song “Temples”.

First of all, “From Two Balconies” has a wonderful cover artwork that was designed by the renowned Derek Riggs (Iron Maiden, Stratovarius, Gamma Ray etc.). Secondly, the album has a modern orientation and blends alternative, modern prog rock, pop-rock, rock, atmospheric, ambient & electronic music together.

Lyon, France dark dreamweavers Les Discrets return with “Prédateurs”, their first full-length album in five years. Ever-evolving, the sound of Les Discrets in 2017 takes a stylistic shift which sees the band’s dreamy shoegaze and metallic tinged post-rock turn into dark indie rock with electronic chill while incorporating inspiration from trip-hop and 70’s film soundtracks.

The title and cover photo come from my Rutgers University senior yearbook photo. My young nieces and nephews found it at my mom’s house and starting texting me how funny it was and when I saw it again after so many years, I agreed! I majored in communication, so it was just a matter of adding the “Breakdown” to it which is obviously, something you never want to happen in comedy.

Is it still useful to present the Swedish Punk Rocker / Indus of THE LEATHER NUN? Surely not, but it is useful to remind the “young people” that this group began its career in 1979. After a few years of absences in the 90’s-2000, the group returned to the front of the stage with WHATEVER (2016). They are back again with this VIVE LA FETE! VIVE LA REVOLUTION which will be released on May 5th.

The two bands Guardian and Whitecross release later this year a joint EP which will feature remakes of their most famous songs.

I never thought the day would come when I would be reviewing vinyl records. I know their popularity has grown in recent years, especially amongst the Hipster crowd, but I never imagined I would be receiving full-length LPS in the mail for review. Crazy!

Electric Poets is a Belarusian Modern Hard Rock band formed in Minsk in 2017. It consists of former Stardust Circus members Stevie Black (guitar), J.J. (guitar), Holz von Teller (bass) alongside belarussian vocalist D.C. Shampanoff (Inomarki/Vox Mira) and drummer Den Trump (Stanmarsh).
