Miami’s “Vandal” were one of the three top draws during South Florid’s club scene explosion in the late-to-mid 90’s (the other two being Tuff Luck and Saigon Kick).
Strong vocals, catchy hooks, and soaring guitar solos were all trade marks of this beloved band. “It’s Only Love” is exclusively available for digital download.

Firebrand Super Rock – Firebrand Super Rock (2011)
Firebrand Super Rock? Man, has every decent band name been already thought of? They are really not doing themselves any favours with a name that sounds like it’s from some sort of Japanese cartoon. On the other hand, the music is quite listenable, go figure.
The truly odd thing about this band though is the lady singer. Nothing odd about it at all, in fact, which is what makes it so odd. They haven’t turned a female presence into some selling point. Hell, it’s barely even mentioned in the press release. Are they even allowed to do that? Well, the whole thing is satisfyingly seamless. It’s got a pretty familiar sound of NWOBHM mixed with a few traditional doom touches, played with a few Down-esque sludgy rock n roll sensibilities, all topped off with some smokey baritone vocals that soar like power metal vocals yet have the beefy depth of traditional heavy metal.
Firebrand Super Rock are quite visibly a well-oiled machine. The sound is focused on a precise direction which they execute quite well. The only real problem is how safe this sounds. If they only dirtied their sound up a bit, maybe added some sludgier bass tones here and there they would have something very special. I hear a top-notch sludge/stoner band hiding behind some fairly bland hard rock songs – they hint toward that sound sporadically throughout the album, but these moments are too few and far between. Thankfully this is only a debut, hopefully we’ll see them take more risks with their music in the future.

In 1995 he released the album “Queen” “Made In Heaven” (“Made in Heaven”), whose title is a double meaning: a hint of Freddie passed away, and a reminder of the songs, first voiced his solo album “Mr. Bad Guy “in 1985. The fruit of careful and painstaking work by the three remaining band members, with recording engineers and several session musicians on vocals, the album stretches out as if the thread between life and nothingness, between Brian, John, Roger and Freddie. The three songs included on the album were already familiar: “Made In Heaven”, “I Was Born To Love You” and “Too Much Love Will Kill You”. However, the first two songs taken from Freddie’s solo album after discreet processing instrument musicians of the parties have begun to sound more powerful, with a truly “royal” polyphony. “Too Much Love”, was first sung by Meem, finds an even greater tragedy in the performance of the Mercury. “Made In Heaven” confirmed that the magic of “Queen” continues! In 2001, Nicholas seems to have remembered his classical conservatory education, and produced nothing like a real opera. As long ago there was the notion of “rock opera” (for example, Jesus Christ Superstar, Tommy), now have a “Metal Opera” (Avantasia), the genre would be to name “hard’n’hevi” opera. NOSTRADAMUS called this creation and are busy in it all the same first-magnitude star, which at this time added the Dougie White (Rainbow, Cornerstone), and Norway’s Jorn Lande (Ark, Masterplan, Jorn, etc.).
Realizing that the rock opera – a genre is very specific, and the injection volume is significant (in the original it came on 2 CD, all tracks made ??by a single array)

Unisonic – Unisonic (2012)
Sure, we had to wait for this quite a bit but the important thing is that it finally happened. Vocalist Michael Kiske and guitarist Kai Hansen, both of Helloween’s Keeper of the Seven Keys fame, joined forces in an actual band! Before this we could occasionally hear the two together on a couple of Kiske’s solo tracks or on Gamma Ray’s and Avantasia’s albums. But Unisonic is the real deal; around 50 minutes of pure rock-metal genius – a treat for everyone who appreciates the talent of these two nice ex-Helloween fellows.
Some might wonder whether Unisonic’s self-titled debut album is metal, which would be a dream come true for most Helloween fans, or perhaps hard rock-AOR that Kiske seemed to have preferred in the recent years, but such genre labels matter not if the material is as good as in this particular case. If anything, the fact that Kiske mostly composes rock songs and Hansen usually stays faithful to metal only adds to the overall value of the album. Unisonic is, therefore, not just a thunderball of great guitar riffs but also sports some beautiful melodies, thoughtful lyrics and, most importantly, enough song-writing variety to keep us redefining the album with each single track.
It starts off in the most anthemic way possible; the title track sweeps the listeners off their feet within seconds with some inspired guitar work and neck-wrecking rhythm, and then totally knocks them out with a powerful chorus. The next several songs – electrifying “Souls Alive,” optimistic “Never Change Me” and relaxed “I’ve Tried” – also mercilessly attack us with their sharp hooks. Even in case of somewhat mellower moments, like near the end of otherwise springy “My Sanctuary,” one can feel there’s some cosmic energy boiling right under the surface, while “King for a Day” marks a return to heavier, Gamma Ray-esque style. In yet another highlight – “Star Rider” – Unisonic successfully try their hand in atmospheric, sci-fi-scented songwriting. They finish off on a more melancholic note with “No One Ever Sees Me,” an emotional track with great lyrics and a beautiful vocal performance by Kiske.
Although Kiske and Hansen are the band’s main stars, there’s this feeling throughout the whole album that Unisonic – with Pink Cream 69’s Kosta Zafiriou on drums and Dennis Ward on bass plus Gotthard’s Mandy Meyer on guitar, is a very homogenous entity and not just a side project of two heavy metal veterans. Anyway, the word “veterans” sounds rather off here, doesn’t it? After all these years Kiske and Hansen sound fresh and energetic as they’ve ever had. Unisonic was never meant to become a clone of Helloween’s early albums and it is anything but that, but it certainly does manage to recapture the youthful vibe of the vocalist and guitarist’s groundbreaking 1980s efforts.
