Warrion – Awakening the hydra 2103
Warrion, the group led by guitarist Ron Ravi Warrion and formed by the vowel Mike Vescera (OBSESSION, ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN), Tim Thomas (ABATTOIR, ex-AGENT STEEL, ex-NEW EDEN) on guitar Leader, Keith Knight (ASKA) on Bass, Rob Brug (HALLOWEEN, ex-DAMIEN) on drums and George Call ASKA band as a guest vocalist, released their debut album “Awakening the hydra”, between the months of August and September of this year , via PURE STEEL RECORDS.
Opera Rock – Starborn (2013)
Mixing Heavy and Power Metal sounds with more melodic and rock ones, in order to affect even those people who do not usually listen to these genres. But most importantly, exploiting the power of this new sound making a cinematic concept-album, where each track contributes to weave a wider plot, holding the listener hands from the intro to the final twist thanks to the “pathos” generated by music: this is the ambitious goal of the Opera Rock. Their debut album, Starborn, grants a full immersion in a sci-fi world, eager to tell us the story of Isaac and Reika, two cores of worlds so different and distant but still similar and close to each other.

The Messenger – Heart and Mind (2013)
MESSENGER is another band coming with the recommendations of Liz Hellman, the mother of Dave Lepard (CRASHDIET). The band plays Christian rock and sings for a higher power. The opening track “Turn To You” is kind of a popish tune that flows well but really it’s a basic tune that will not turn many heads. The guitar work by Fredrik Elm and Johnny Sandberg is fair but doesn’t push the levels.

After the soothing intro, BLAZON STONE charged forward with their ultrasonic opener, “Return To Port Royal”, a bombastic Speed Metal track in the spirit of the old “Port Royal” album, actually with various similarities to the “Conquistador” and “Port Royal” tracks. Ced wrote some incredible riffing, parallel to the old RUNNING WILD flame hitherto with extra crunchy melodic licks, especially the ones of the main riff and crushing onslaught drumming.
