RAMPART has finished the recording sessions of their new project ‘War Behest’. The album is being mixed and will be released by the French label Inferno Records in 2012. ‘War Behest’ is a metal opera!!! This conceptual piece of music consists of 10 compositions and presents an anti-utopia of war as clash of interest. In the real nature of conflict there are no losers and winners. The opposition is a result of our free will. This is a story about the restrictions of man and the decisions he could take on his way to perfection. The libretto will be published in the booklet of the release and its poetic expression is in the lyrics of the album.’War Behest’ cover artwork is created by the talented Bulgarian artist Dimitar Nikolov (KEEP IT TRUE, ROSS THE BOSS, SENTINEL BEAST, STEELWING and many more).

Homicide Black’s debut CD arrived with a business card slipped under the plastic shrink wrap. Nothing unusual about that, I thought. Then I looked a little closer. Underneath band name there’s a statement, ‘Salvation for an ailing metal world.’ Really? That’s a bold statement from this Pittsburgh power trio.
One clue to Homicide Black’s influences and sound comes from the one cover song on the album, Black Sabbath’s Fairies Were Boots. I always liked the song and the band does a decent job with it. This debut follows in that vein of traditional heavy metal, sometimes with touch of doom metal.

Paul Di’Anno, the first singer of the giant Iron Maiden, is the new special guest in Scelerata’s 3rd album called “The Sniper”. Scelerata is the Paul Di’Anno’s brazilian band having done 40 shows/three tours in Brazil.
“The Sniper” was released in June in the Asian market and arrives in Brazil on July 15. The album had the production of Charlie Bauerfiend (Motörhead, Helloween, Blind Guardian, Halford …) and Renato Osorio. The recordings were made in the Twilight Hall Studio, owned by the band Blind Guardian in Germany.

The “Wielder of the Blade” album takes the listener through an epic journey as the main character, Rais’Alon, works his way through the realms of magic to meet the final battle for the land of Phylean. Each song has a particular character (or characters) that tell a portion of the story.
Ron Burgoyne and John Logsdon have been jamming together for 30 years and were in various hard rock/metal bands over that time. They took a break away from band life for about 20 years in order to raise families and such, but they always kept the music going one way or the other.
KrethX was started by John and Ron in 2008. While we would love to get back into playing live, we’re at a bit of a disadvantage…we live 6 hours apart and it’s just the two of us that do all the music. At some point, if our music builds enough of a following, we would start looking toward adding members to the band and then who knows? Regardless, our goal is to make epic/fantasy metal where we can tell stories through our music.
