GUN SHY – Gun Shy [The Unreleased EP] (2025)
Formed the late ’80s, GUN SHY operated between Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey and released their independent debut album in 1994 via only a local distributor. But the band recorded this EP earlier with a different vocalist, a material never released until now.
Here’s in exclusive GUN SHY’s self-titled EP ”Gun Shy”, a great slice of American hard rock with melody. Produced in the early ’90s by Michael Kelly Smith of Britny Fox fame, they’ve got tons of harmonies in their commercial rock ‘n’ roll, plus diverse influences.
Gun Shy playing up a storm in the East club circuit, with a major record label interested in the band. Unfortunately that never happened and the group almost disbanded. They reformed with a new vocalist which recorded that ’94 indie CD, musically turning more straight hard rock.
But this ”Gun Shy” EP is much more catchy, melodic, still rocking collection of songs akin Blue Tears, Le Mans, early Hurricane, and of course, Britny Fox. While there’s only 4 tracks on this EP, all are very good, and very well recorded.
You’ll be surprised by GUN SHY, another band that deserved exposure.
