Ｍａｒｑｕｅｅ ／ Ａｖａｌｏｎ Ｊａｐａｎ is releasing the JAKE E. LEE album “Runnin’ With The Devil” in a Deluxe Edition including bonus tracks, for the first time pressed on SHM-CD. The disc includes 6 newly added tracks, plus new artwork.

Quite underrated during the Eighties – but highly praised later – Jake E. Lee is mostly known by the two albums he recorded with Ozzy Osbourne, “Bark At The Moon” and the slick “Ultimate Sin” (not to mention his three excellent Badlands albums), all chock full of fantastic playing by this man.
A true guitar hero and one of the best electric six-string players emerged from the ’80s, JAKE E. LEE took a sabbatical decade away from the stages during the 2000’s. However, Jake collaborated with some bands, recorded many songs for famous acts tribute albums, and did by his own versions of rock classics. ”Runnin’ With The Devil [Japan SHM-CD Deluxe Edition +6]” packs most of these.
You get here an album worth of re-workings of songs made famous by Van Halen, Metallica, Ted Nugent, AC/DC, Rush, etc, with Lee’s impressive licks accompanied by a variety of stellar vocalists such as Glenn Hughes, Stephen Pearcy, Jani Lane (Warrant), Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), James LaBrie, Jack Blades (Night Ranger) and more. The rest of the musicians is impressive as well including Billy Sheehan, Tony Franklin, Carmine Appice, Mike Portnoy, et all.

All covers are well produced and hot ‘n rockin’, like Ted Nugent & the Amboy Dukes’ “Journey to the Center of the Mind”, which features some tasty licks and a crazy solo, Metallica’s “Seek and Destroy”, and Van Halen’s ”Runnin’ With The Devil”.
Other highlights include tracks where it’s the singer (alongside Lee) who makes the music memorable, including Lemmy on AC/DC’s “It’s a Long Way to the Top”, Glenn Hughes on Queen’s “Get Down, Make Love”, the late Jani Lane of Warrant doing “Free For All”, Sebastian Bach, James LaBrie, etc.

It’s always a treat to spot some largely unheard Jake E. Lee guitar work, and ”Runnin’ With The Devil [Japan SHM-CD Deluxe Edition +6] is a great example of his mastery on the electric guitar.
