Lady Catman – Eyes Wide Open 2018

Most of them are Cathleen “What’s your last name?” Aka LADY CATMAN as the guitarist of The Apocalyptic Riders (to be heard on “The Road”, “Light” and the live record “Adrenaline”), but at “Eyes Wide Open “Is the solo debut of the all-round musician from Weimar, and as the appendix AND FRIENDS suggests, some quite prominent helpers participate in it.

The title track is even a small sensation as it brings the late Warrel Dane together for the last time with his former Nevermore companion Jeff Loomis. The singer and the guitarist make the piece the linchpin of the disc, although luckily it does not outshine the rest. Henning Basse (ex-Brainstorm, Metalium) and Todd Michael Hall of Riot V lend part of the material US Metal flair to which one likes to overlook Destruction-Schmier’s contribution.
