Sinnocence – State Of Grace (The “LOST U.S. JEWELS Volume 8) 2020, MP3+FLAC
Some time ago we featured the rare, private release “State Of Grace“, by American Melodic Hard Rockers SINNOCENCE. Formed in 1989 in Union County, and playing throughout the New York and New Jersey club scene, SINNOCENCE garnered a reputation as one of the hottest bands from the East.
Support slots alongside the likes of Kix, Tyketto, LA Guns, Shy and Danger Danger saw them moving among the big boys as they ventured into the studio to cut their “State Of Grace” debut-album. Professionally recorded at Jungle Studios in Union, NJ, and released in ’93, the album packs really good melodic tunes with that second half of the Eighties feel-good vibe in the vein of Danger Danger, Black ’n’ Blue, White Lion, Trixter, etc.
As part of the excellent Steelheart Memories Records ‘Lost Jewels’ series, now we are presenting in exclusive “The Lost US Jewels” Vol.5 : SINNOCENCE – State Of Grace [Remastered & Remixed +2]”.
The album not only has been remastered for this reissue, but also remixed for optimal results obtaining a really good sound quality. As extra, there’s 2 previously unreleased tracks, new artwork, plus a complete booklet with rare photos and the story of SINNOCENCE.
When Danny Roselle, Nick Quig Clemente and Frank Duca first got together in their high school band, The Way In, it sets them on a trajectory through the highs and lows of the world of Rock and Roll. Coming from Union County and playing throughout the New York and New Jersey club scene, SINNOCENCE soon garnered a reputation of a hot rocking band.
Recorded at “Jungle Studios” in Union, NJ and released in ’93, SINNOCENCE and their debut-album were dead in the water, but they just didn’t know it yet. With Grunge sweeping the nation, the amazing initial reaction that was afforded the album was encouraging, as were the support slots to Vince Neil and Paul Rodgers. But as the work dried up, so did the bands enthusiasm and they called it a day.
A shame as “State Of Grace” is a fine independent release, a cult classic that should have done so much more for this band of talented musicians. Take a listen to the likes of “Runnin’ From The Rain”, the surging “Nature Of The Night” or “Angel Walk” for further proof. They just were in the right place, at the wrong time.
