On ‘Gracias Señor’ the Losers exchanged beer for a colorful cocktail with a parasol. The craftsmanship is as always excellent, but the band makes more impression with devil rituals than with these hammock songs. ‘Denim on Denim’, ‘A Little More’, ‘I’ll Be Back’ and ‘Anything Goes’ are fleeting: fun, but soon forgotten. It’s good: that stumbling guitar riff of ‘All in a Day’s Work’ and the discogroove of ‘Dark Ride’. ‘Anyone who first makes two good records and makes a big step forward at his third, will soon end up with a world record,’ colleague (fvd) wrote about ‘Skydogs’. A step back, now. Lo siento, señores.
